FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking your Tanzanian adventure with LeSan Tours.
When is the best time to visit Tanzania? +
The dry season (June–October) is ideal for wildlife viewing as animals congregate around water sources. The Great Migration river crossings typically peak July–September. The green season (November–March) offers lush landscapes and excellent bird watching, with calving season in January–February.
Do I need a visa to visit Tanzania? +
Most visitors require a visa. You can obtain an eVisa online before travel or get a visa on arrival at major airports and border crossings. We recommend the eVisa for a smoother entry process. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure date.
What vaccinations do I need? +
Yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving from a yellow fever endemic country. Recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Tetanus, and routine vaccines. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended. Always consult your travel doctor 4–6 weeks before departure.
Is Tanzania safe for tourists? +
Yes — Tanzania is one of Africa's safest countries for tourism. Our guides are trained in safety protocols, and we only work with trusted accommodation partners. As with any travel, we recommend standard precautions like not displaying valuables and using hotel safes.
What's included in the safari price? +
Our safari packages typically include accommodation, meals as specified (full board on safari), park entry fees, professional guide services, and transportation in a 4x4 safari vehicle. International flights, visas, travel insurance, drinks, and tips are generally excluded. Check each tour's specific inclusions.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements? +
Absolutely. Whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, or other dietary needs — just let us know when booking and we'll ensure all meals are prepared accordingly. Our camp chefs are experienced with a wide range of dietary requirements.
How fit do I need to be for Kilimanjaro? +
You don't need technical climbing skills, but good cardiovascular fitness is essential. We recommend training with long hikes, stair climbing, and cardio exercise for at least 2–3 months before your trek. Our guides set a slow, steady pace ("pole pole") to maximize acclimatization and success.
What is the cancellation policy? +
Our standard policy: cancellations 60+ days before departure receive a full refund minus a small admin fee. 30–59 days: 50% refund. Under 30 days: non-refundable. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations. Custom terms may apply for group bookings.
